General Motors to Recall 300,000 Cars

American car manufacturers, General Motors (GM) was forced to pull back (recall) one of their legendary car, the Chevrolet Impala in part due to improper seat belt.

There are more than 300 thousand units of the Chevrolet Impala will be withdrawn. Action Chevrolet Impala recall 303.1000 unit of General Motors made it happen because safety belts are embedded in the car that many failed to hold passengers in the front seat when the accident occurred.


"Seat belts front may not be true when fitted to a safety lock on the side seat. As a result, seat belt can not hold occupants as defined in the accident," GM said in a statement like detikOto quotes from The Detroit News, Sunday (17/10 / 2010).


Yet GM said it had reports of deaths or injuries associated with this problem. GM itself has begun to investigate this issue in June 2009, when there were nine reports seat belt repair warranty.


Recall action will begin on October 26, this will only involve 192 922 units Impala model year 2009 and 110,178 units for 2010 Impala models in America and made in the period April 2008 to March 2010 and 19 000 similar models in Canada.
