Beware of Trends Spams 2011

Spam, junk mail that could be dangerous, dominate email traffic in the world. According to a report from Symantec Messaging and Web Security, spam email accounted for approximately 84 percent of the world.

In a report received detikINET on Wednesday (12/29/2010), there are several trends predicted spam would happen in 2011.

1. Latest News As the title of Spam

Symantec believes spammers will still be trying to attract their victims with titles related news current events. In 2010, spammersuse the the title as world cup and oil spills .

2. Exploitation of Social Networking

The development of social media, like Facebook or Twitter, it is believed will continue. The perpetrators of spam and phishing was going to continue to use it. Including to steal identities and information.

3. Volume vs Targeted Attacks


Spammers, according to Symantec, the more sophisticated in committing fraud and online identity theft attempts. Although the global spam volumes may decline, but there will be an increase in attacks that specifically target a particular user.

4. Spammers Do not Want to Die

In 2010 many blows that the spammers. including the demise of some 'host' world's spam. However, users should continue to be vigilant because spammers are still trying to keep rampant.

5. Spam Plus Malware

The prediction is quite scary from Symantec is going to increase in spam attacks containing malicious program (malware). This is done to expand the botnet spammers aka troops zombie machines that are used to send spam.
