Posted at  2:13 AM  |  in  tekno

If during this Google Maps for mobile phones can only be used online, the latest version of the map application will be used offline. This means users can more quickly load map data as well as cut the number of connections used.

The remark was made by Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering at Google and Head of the Android project, as reported Afterdawn and quoted on Wednesday (12/08/2010).

Google Maps 5 will store all the maps and route users who have passed into memory. So when in use, users no longer have to download the map again as in effect on the previous version.

In addition, the latest version of Google's map application can display images a la Google Earth 3D map. Users also can freely play with the touch of two fingers at once.

Google Maps 5 reportedly going Android version may be downloaded for free a few days ahead. This application can be sure your phone is compatible on the Nexus S, S Galaxy, Droid (1, 2, X, Incredible), EVO 4G and classmates. Even supposedly going to be pinned directly on Motorola's latest tablet.
