Age Symbian Only Until 2016

Good news for fans attending the Symbian. In the midst of transition Symbian to Windows Phone 7 (WP7), digawangi Nokia mobile OS will not be immediately finished. Updates will continue to run until early in 2016. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop himself who said it.

"Symbian carve a long history. Symbian will still be used in the future," said Stephen Elop is also a former Microsoft employee, said in an interview at Nokia Conversation event in China, as quoted on Friday (05/27/2011).

Nevertheless, Elop said that the manufacturing Symbian will continue to run to update the OS until early in 2016. "I think it's very clear, updates Symbian will still run, at least until early 2016," he added.

Nokia CEO did not say how long Nokia will continue to expect from Symbian market. But the talks have been very clear that Nokia will focus on WP7.

Elop also said that Nokia would be committed to sell 150 million handsets with Symbian, before they actually dive into the WP7.
