Sony and the PlayStation brand tarnished by a network collapse PlayStation Network (PSN) by the cracker. Their brand image is considered to decline because of less incompetent in handling the user data safety PSN.
According to assessments conducted BranIndex brand in the United States, Sony has previously had a score of 24.3. But after the break-ins occurred on PSN which resulted in important data users stolen, scores dropped dramatically to 7.6.
Reported by USA Today and quoted on Wednesday (11/05/2011), previous Sony was ranked the top three brands with a high score. But now is behind competitors like Apple, Motorola, Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Dell and Samsung.
Brand game console PlayStation 3 even more severe decline in the land of Uncle Sam's. From a previous score of 16, now becomes -9.8.
Brand valuation was done by asking thousands of respondents in the United States regarding the perception of a brand, whether positive or negative.Separate surveys were also noted to be tarnished Sony's brand in the eyes of fans.
Polling in the gaming website Kotaku on 11 thousand respondents revealed that 51% of them negative opinion on the Sony-related event. While the 49% rate decreases Sony brand image.
As reported earlier, important data transported millions of PSN users by the cracker. Until now, PSN has not been operational. Similarly, the identity of attackers have not been revealed clearly
