German Grand Prix which will take place this weekend could be the last GermanGP. The fate of the German GP at risk after the government decided to stop giving subsidies.

Indeed, Germany had a contract until 2016. But, because the state ofRhineland-Palatinate, where the Nurburgring circuit is located, is now controlledby the coalition parties SPD / Green Party, the conditions changed.

Minister of State of Rhineland-Palatinate Eveline Lemke on Monday (7/18/2011) states that the German GP this year is the last GP that received funding supportfrom the Government.

"Until 2016, there will be only one F1 Grand Prix sponsored by the Governmentand it was in 2011. That's it," Lemke said, as quoted by Auto Racing 123.

Without government subsidies, the organizers claimed would suffer a greaterloss. If you still want German GP run, then there must be new arrangements in the financial sector.

"The current conditions will lead to a big loss and could no longer acceptable," said manager Nurburgring, Jörg Lindner.

"Thus, the sustainability of a great and legendary tradition of F1 race at the Nurburgring in the future only occurred when the contract will come includeconditions that can be economically and politically acceptable," he added.
