Romain Grosjean won the GP2 Series event this season in a way that is quite dominant. Does this mean that Grosjean was ready to return to Formula 1? Yes,says Renault.
Grosjean lock the GP2 title in Belgium last weekend. With a value of 83, drivers who reinforce dams that can no longer be pursued by the competitors in the threeraces left (two in Italy and one in Abu Dhabi).
Seen in the last four months, Grosjean was dominant. The French rider won five races and a total of nine podium finishes.
In the eyes of the principal Renault, Eric Boullier, this is a sign that Grosjean is ready to return to F1. For information, the 25 years it never replace Nelson PiquetJr. at Renault in 2009 but failed miserably with his best finish in the top 13.
"He did it the right way, it's something important," commented Boullier aboutGP2 title Grosjean, told ESPN F1.
