McLaren Intend Delaying Party Vettel

With a victory at Singapore Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel stayed one step away from becoming world champion F1. However, McLaren intend to postpone thechampionship party.

After winning the race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday (09/25/2011) night, Vettel now collecting 309 points, or 124 points, ahead of Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso on 125 points. The latter already say that the most realisticis to be the runner-up.

Button still had a chance, however small. With the remaining five series, he can still win it all and won an additional 125 points to pass Vettel in the standings. But it is hard to imagine not Vettel picked up points at all in the remaining fiveseries.

As a result, McLaren could only postpone the party Vettel and Red Bull. "I think this is a difficult thing. But, mathematically, it is still possible," said MartinWhitmarsh McLaren team principal at the Autosport.

"Adrian (Newey), Red Bull and Sebastian did a fantastic job, but I'm glad they did not celebrate the feast in Singapore."

"I'm very pleased with the fans and everything, we promise to keep fighting."

"Who knows? It would be nice if they also can not be partying in Japan, but theydo look strong," said Whitmarsh.
