Timelines.com, Chicago-based company the United States (U.S.) bring an action against Facebook's new Timeline feature just introduced. The reason, the feature is accused of violating a trademark of Timelines.com and potentially 'kick' a small company like them.
The lawsuit has been filed Timelines.com to Facebook through the courts of North Illinois, USA. This site hopes to force Facebook to cancel the release of their Timeline feature, which is scheduled to officially launches earlier this month.
Timelines.com also notes that they have a Facebook Page. Small companies were accused Facebook directs the search for the word 'Timeline' on Facebook from them to the webpage Facebook Page Facebook's Timeline.
Reported by PC Mag and quoted on Tuesday (10/04/2011), courts dealing with this lawsuit to temporarily deny the request Timelines.com. Edmond Chang said the trial judge should be able to prove Timelines.com this case over the use of the word 'timeline'.
"They should be able to prove that the term 'Timelines' does not directly fall into the generic category," said Chang.
Meanwhile, the Product Manager for Facebook Samuel Lessin said that Facebook was not planning to open wider access than the current nor planned to promote the Timeline in the media anywhere.
