Ron Wayne, Apple's Forgotten Founder

Posted at  1:23 AM  |  in

Founder Apple is not just Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak alone. One name that isperhaps not so well known is Ron Wayne was with the two figures above jointlyinitiated the founding of Apple.

Yes, in 1976, Wayne was with Jobs and Wozniak founded Apple who was thenstill a small company. But two weeks later, Wayne's sold 10% ownership stakefor USD 2300 and re-focus on his old job at the company Atari.

Wayne apparently could not bear to develop the company from scratch. In addition, Wayne has been feeling too old and a bit traumatized by the neverfailing business. He was about 20 years older than Jobs and Wozniak.

Wayne which is currently 77 years old admitted to not regret even if he survivedand still holds shares in Apple, he will be one of the richest people in the world. For now, Apple is worth about USD 350 billion.

Jobs was the one who invited Wayne to co-founding Apple and offered him 10% of the shares at the time. Wayne is considered an adult can mediate if there iscontention between Jobs and Wozniak are still young and ambitious.

"He has the mentality is more mature and have a strong formula of what happened and how the company runs," Wozniak said about Wayne.

"I'm very very happy to participate to be part of something that actually has a verybig expectations and something that I think will be really successful," Waynesaid about his participation in the Apple.

After selling its shares, Wayne remains an adviser to Apple. He had helpeddesign the Apple logo at the time. No wonder if Wayne was so lost when Jobsdies.
