According to research at Strategy Analytics, global handset shipments grew14% from the previous period by the number of 390 million units. Nokia is still the champion with a market share of 27.3%. The amount is quite largedecrease of the percentage of 32.3% in the same period in 2010.
Nokia's position dipepet Samsung to gain market share 22.6% from the previous 20.9%. In total, Samsung shipped 88 million phones, a combination ofa smartphone with a feature phone.
"Sales of Nokia's powerful dual sim model offset by weak demand for Symbiansmartphones," said Neil Mawston from Strategy Analytics. The advent ofWindows Phone Nokia recently is expected to restore the position of Nokia.
LG Electronics stand in third position, but their market share fell to 5.4%. ZTELG approached in place kempat with 4.4% market share.
