Adobe Stop Flash Development on Mobile Devices

Posted at  6:45 PM  |  in

A surprise announcement came from Adobe. They told me that Adobe would no longer continue the development of Flash on mobile devices.

Instead, they will focus on developing mobile applications. Decision'abandoning' plug in mobile Flash for mobile devices must be very disappointingmany, considering the Flash version of this great demand of mobile users.

"We're no longer adapting the Flash Player on mobile devices for the new browser, OS version or configuration of the device," the official statement quoted from the Adobe TechRadar, Thursday (11/10/2011).

In addition to focusing on mobile application development, Adobe is now tryingto develop content on their desktop and improve investment in HTML 5.

Adobe and its partners, Google, has said that with Flash support in mobile, so consumers can see the full version of web pages, including sites with Flash-based animation, online gaming and streaming video.

This displacement could be plausible. Adobe seems to be targeting the use ofFlash applications in a more exclusive class as the 3D gam, premium video andcorporations' in-house.
