North Korea forbids its citizens to use the phone for 100 days. If anyone iscaught violating the order, then the question would be considered a warcriminal. What are the reasons?
Communication between citizens in the country hampered. Of course, becausethe threat of disciplinary action taken on the phone usage rules violators is quitehorrible.
Apparently, this rules out the related death of an eccentric and authoritarianrulers of North Korea, Kim Jong-il. Residents were required to not use cell phones during the period of mourning, as quoted from ZDNet, Monday(30/01/2012).
Given that there are approximately 700,000 North Koreans are using the 3G network, then you can imagine how bleak conditions blanketed the realm ofcommunication there. Not only mobile phones, Internet use was reported alsoprohibited.
Jong-il himself was known to rule with an iron fist. Rather than pay attention tostarving its citizens, he instead focuses on the nuclear program. It is feared, both the technology (mobile phones and internet) will pave the civil unrest after the death of Jong-il.
