Lewis Hamilton won the first pole position this season after being the fastest in Australian GP qualifying session. McLaren dominance confirmed by Jenson Button, who finished second.
At the Albert Park Circuit on Saturday (17/03/2012) noon CST, Hamilton managed to continue the appearance apiknya in free practice for the race on pole after a record time of 1 minute 24.922 second best.
Colleagues as his team trailed behind Button in 0.152 seconds adrift. While the surprise success comes with Lotus driver Romain Grosjean who ended the session with the third fastest time.
Mercedes old champion Michael Schumacher and Mark Webber complete the top five rankings. While the defending champion Sebastian Vettel is still having trouble since free practice with these six positions.
Misadventure accepted by Fernando Alonso. Ferrari was forced to start from 12th position after the entry into the gravel at Turn 1 and could not continue the qualification. Worse outcome acceptable to Felipe Massa started the race from 16th position.
